The relationship between man and woman is becoming harder and harder to sustain since our changing society is a huge pool of diversification, mingled with different kind of people who have different concepts in mind. How to understand what the opposite sex is thinking has become an important lesson to learn.

Many relationships went sour due to misunderstanding, and in the first chapter the author used an interesting point of view to remind us that men and women are born different. “Without a clear awareness of our differences, we do not take the time to understand and respect each other. We become demanding, resentful, judgment, and intolerant.” That’s not really a good developmet.

For my experience, I have never been through an actual real relationship. Therefore, it might be difficult for me to understand how hard it is for man and woman to love and understand each other unconditionally.

However, one thing that I actually know is that whenever we are interact with the oppisite sex or not. The space for accepting differences among different people is needed. It’s not about being nice. It’s about appreaciate how colorful and beautiful the sparkle we might evoke during these interesting interaction with people. In the first chapter provided a general situation in a deteriorating relationship, “We mistakenly assume that if our partners love us they will react and behave in certain ways-the ways we react and behave when we love someone.” Again, not every people are the same. We feel things differently and react in a different way.

It’s necessary and even an art to accept this fact. “When you remember that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, everything can be explained.” I’m really looking forward to see what materials the author will provide in the following reading.
